My Story

Nearly two decades of learning, adapting, and growing

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 17. At the time, I had no idea how much that diagnosis would shape the years ahead.

Nearly two decades later, diabetes has been part of some of the biggest chapters of my life—from learning to manage it as a young adult, to pregnancy, becoming a mom, navigating new technology, and finding strength through movement.

I created Lady Clay to share those experiences honestly and anonymously. This isn’t a place where I have everything figured out. It’s a space for the lessons, challenges, little wins, and everyday realities of building a life alongside Type 1 diabetes.

Why I created Lady Clay

Living with Type 1 diabetes for nearly two decades has given me a lot of stories, lessons, and experiences that I wish I’d had someone to share with me along the way.

Lady Clay is my little corner of the internet where I can talk about those experiences—from diabetes and pregnancy to motherhood, strength, wellness, and the everyday things that come with living with a chronic condition.

I’m keeping this space anonymous because I want the focus to be on the story, not the person behind it. I hope it becomes a place where someone living with Type 1 diabetes can find something relatable, useful, or simply reassuring: you’re not alone.

You're welcome here

If you’re living with Type 1 diabetes, navigating motherhood, working on your strength, or simply figuring things out as you go—I hope you’ll find something here that feels like it was written for you.

A note from Lady Clay:
Everything shared on Lady Clay is based on my personal experiences and is intended for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and should not replace guidance from your doctor or diabetes care team. Everyone’s experience with Type 1 diabetes is different.
